Physical trapping - Definition, glossary, details
The carbon dioxide that is stored underground remains trapped within
the underground formation due to the presence of an impermeable rock lying
above the reservoir where this CO2 is trapped.
This provides a natural seal against any possible leakage of carbon
dioxide from the reservoir.
