Kyoto Basket - Definition, glossary, details
Under Kyoto protocol, parties have committed to control emissions of
a basket of six greenhouse gases. This ‘basket’ includes carbon dioxide,
methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and SF6. This
arrangement provides flexibility to the parties of the protocol to increase its
emissions in one gas to compensate for the same in the reductions made in
another gas in the basket.
