Keeling Curve - Definition, glossary, details
Keeling curve shows the variation in concentration of CO2 in the
atmosphere since 1958. This curve was drawn using the continuous measurements taken
at Mauna Loa observatory in Hawaii. The observation by keeling showed for the
first time a drastic increase in concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
due to human activities. Prior to his observation it was assumed that the
concentration of CO2 varies constantly.
