Infrared radiation - Definition, glossary, details

Radiation emitted from the earth’s surface, the atmosphere and the clouds is known as infrared radiation. It is also referred as terrestrial or long wave radiation. The infrared radiation is different from the short wave solar radiation emitted by the sun due to the temperature difference between sun and the earth’s surface.
