Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) - Definition, glossary, details
HCFCs are organic compounds that contain carbon, fluorine, chlorine
and hydrogen atoms. These compounds are subclass of CFCs. The manufacture and
use of HCFCs is also banned under Montreal protocol due to its ozone depleting
capability. These compounds find use as propellants in refrigerators, aerosol
cans and air conditioning systems.
