Global Warming Potential (GWP) - Definition, glossary, details

GWP refers to the contribution of individual greenhouse gases to the global warming. This involves comparing the contribution of a particular gas to that of the same mass of carbon dioxide where the GWP of CO2 is by convention 1. The high GWP of a greenhouse gas is associated with large infrared absorption and a long time atmospheric timeline.
