Carbon Market - Definition, glossary, details

Carbon market is a trading system that allows countries to buy or sell units of greenhouse gas emissions to meet individual countries emissions under Kyoto protocol or under other agreements. The term is derived from carbon dioxide which is the main greenhouse gas, while the other gases are measured in terms of ‘carbon dioxide equivalents’.
