Acid Rain - Definition, glossary, details

Acid rain is the rain water mixed with industrial chemicals that are harmful to plants, animals and living beings. Some of the acid rain causing chemicals are oxides of nitrogen and sulphur which gets converted to nitric acid and sulphuric acid on reacting with water.
